Sanitary towels or pads are worn between legs private area and underwear. There are 2 types of sanitary towels available in the market. One with adhesives at one site that sticks to the underwear. The other one has wings to support and hold it at one place on the underwear. The company's give us up to 8 hours of use of one pad but usually u need to change in every 4 - 6 hours, to avoid leakage.
Following is the proper way to use a sanitary towel.
- Remove the pad from its package and unfold it.
- Pull down your underwear while sitting on the toilet.
- If its a winged pad then there must be 3 strips that covers the adhesives.
- Strip the main strip and attach it to your underwear and press it down firmly.
- Now tear off the strip from the wings and fold them beneath your underwear.
- Make sure your sanitary towel covers the whole vagina.
- Check every 2 hours for any leaks or if you need to change.
- Its easy to know when to change. Change when the pad is wet and no longer is able to absorb any more fluid.
- Remove the pad from your underwear and roll it in the package from which you took it out and through it into the waste basket.
